PERSONAL ACCOUNT BY PETE LUCAS


 My uncle was killed in the BERLIN AIRLIFT. His name was  1lt William T. Lucas.  I called him uncle Hamm. I was 10  years old when he died. I understand that he had a mid-  air coll in a C-47. I dont know a lot about him but I  do want to know anything about him.  I remember him in  his uniform and I knew that when I grew up I wanted to  be like him. I didnt quite do that, but I did retire as  a enlisted man, and I also was on flying status.  I was on the airborne command post. If you can tell  me anything about my uncle, please .
