This image of M64 ("Black Eye Galaxy") was taken with a 20cm (8 inch) Celestron SCT telescope at f10 using an ST-6 CCD camera.
M64 was discovered in 1781, and was described by Charles Messier in the same year as "a nebula without stars". Processing this image was a challenge due to the dence core, and light outer rim.
